About U81X

We started as a repair bench. We became a place where players belong.

U81X is operated by GRACE UXON ROCK CORP. What began as one technician fixing guitars for friends is now a crew of luthiers, teachers, engineers and players who look after every stage of a musician's journey.

Meet Riff

Our mascot winks because the guitar is already in tune

Riff is the rock-star cat on every U81X sticker, gig bag and bench report. He stands for the way we work: serious about craft, never serious about ourselves. If a customer walks in nervous, Riff is there to remind everyone that music is supposed to be fun.

  • Headphones on — we listen before we adjust
  • Cap backwards — no gatekeeping, every level welcome
  • Neon guitar — we love new tech as much as vintage wood
Milestones

From one bench to one crew

  1. 2017

    The first bench

A single repair bench, a soldering iron and a waiting list of friends' guitars.

  2. 2019

    The shop wall

We began stocking instruments — only models our technicians were happy to set up and stand behind.

  3. 2021

    Rentals & rent-to-own

Parents asked for a way to try before buying. The rental fleet grew to 200 instruments in a year.

  4. 2023

    The Academy opens

Lessons, kids' classes and our first bench workshops, taught by people who also repair.

  5. 2025

    Studios A, B and C

Three treated rooms and a control room, built with the same backline we maintain.

  6. 2026

    U81X online

Accounts, live catalog and bookings bring the whole crew together in one place.

Principles

Six things we will not compromise on

  1. 01

    Set up before sold

No instrument leaves our wall without a hands-on setup.

  2. 02

    Honest quotes

Fixed prices approved before work begins — including when the answer is 'don't repair it'.

  3. 03

    Every level welcome

First-timers and touring pros get the same patience and the same bench.

  4. 04

    Teach, don't gatekeep

We explain what we did, so players can look after their own instruments.

  5. 05

    Family-friendly spaces

Safe, smoke-free, alcohol-free rooms where kids and parents feel at home.

  6. 06

    Keep it playable

Repair first, replace last. Good instruments deserve long lives.
